Cowboys
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott said he was going through a tough time after the organization parted ways with the former OC Kellen Moore and RB Ezekiel Elliott.
“It’s hard to say it’s nice right now honestly. That’s exactly what these guys mean to me. You know what I mean?” Prescott said, via ESPN’s Todd Archer. “You (make) those relationships and that’s what makes you play the way you do, those are the relationships you build within the organization and within your team. Whether it’s with the coaches or whatever be with the teammates. I know the candy is coming. I know it’s coming. A very optimistic guy, don’t get me wrong. Change is good as I’ve always said but it’s hard for me to see right now. But I know it’s happening and I’m excited when it happens.
Prescott points out that he and Elliott were both selected in the 206 NFL Draft.
“It’s hard,” said Prescott. “(A brother. Playing the game with a brother. To be able to start this career in the NFL and share so many memories and grow as men. Grow as men with this organization, I really can’t imagine taking the pitch without him. It’s something that I don’t know if it’s completely hit me yet. Obviously I’ve spoken to him. I’m hurt. I’m sure he is. But the most important thing for me is , is to be able to support him. I know he has more opportunities to come. I love this guy, proud of him, #1 supporter and here for him no matter what.
Prescott notices that the players he used to play with have retired or are now on other teams.
“It allows you to better control those emotions, to overcome that, to understand that we will all hang up the cleats one day”, said Prescott. “Let everything come to an end. Whether it’s when we want it, whether it’s where or in the organization we want it or not, that’s the reality. As you get older and see this happening more and more with guys you’re closer to and friends with, it becomes more of a reality of getting older I guess. It’s unfortunate. It sucks. But that’s part of it and I hate to see all these guys go and we don’t win. This is what will eat me away forever.
